Poodles

The poodle is one of the oldest breeds known to man. There are documentaries referencing the poodle as early as 1642.  Poodles have thick, wooly, curly coats.  There are several varieties and colors of poodles.  Some of the color varieties are white, silver, blue, gray, brown, apricot, red, cream and black.  Poodles are very happy- go- lucky, quite elegant and make wonderful pets.  Poodles range in size from the larger standard to the small toy variety.

Why A POODLE?

POODLES are among the most intelligent dogs you can own. Originally, POODLES were bred as hunting dogs because of their sharp minds and quick responses. They are non-shedding animals and Hypoallergenic. Those who have allergies to dogs & cats can usually own a POODLE without experiencing any difficulties. Since they have no body dander, fur, nor odor, they make perfect gentlemen and ladies. Mild mannered, yet protective, they are wonderful with children and great family watchdogs.

POODLES come in three sizes, Standard - Miniatures - Toy . All are bred without mixing any other breeds with them to get the various sizes. They also come in various color, Creams - White - Black - Brown - Silver - Blue - Apricot - Red - Silver - Beige as well as occasional Parti's (mix of two colors) and Phantoms. For showing purposes, POODLES must be a solid color.

Choosing A POODLE

Being a conscientious breeder is to breed not for financial gain, but for the quality of the breed. The study of genetic is very important in the selection process. Knowing the bloodlines and the temperaments in the background of your dog's pedigree helps insure the prevention of genetic disorders such as such as hip displacement. Keeping this mind when acquiring a puppy will give you many years of happiness to share with a healthy and wonderful companion.
